The base characteristics of PTFE are the ones offering a unique combination of:

low coefficient of friction
excellent chemical inertness
non-adhesive surface
wide temperature range withstanding (–200° C to +260° C), excellent dielectric properties.

PTFE gaskets are available in a range of grades to suit various sealing applications, providing exceptional resistance to chemicals, high dielectric strength and a high temperature range.

  • Exceptional resistance to chemicals, with the exception of some alkali metals (grade dependent).
  • Very low coefficient of friction.
  • Can operate at extremely low and high temperatures.
  • Excellent resistance to corrosion and hydrolysis.
  • Offers very low moisture absorption.
  • Provides excellent dielectric strength.
  • Not suitable for use with highly abrasive materials.
  • Popular gasket material in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical sectors
